Who Deserves More Credit?

a fellow from china,
i’ll call him a humble man,
has won the Nobel Prize for Peace.

how can this be?
his lifetime has been fraught with
the polar enemies
in his homeland,
for such ideals such as peace.

he lives in a land where the human condition
leads anywhere else but to
prosperity and compassion for fellow man.

the prime example of which is that they,
the Chinese,
did not offer their hand in congratulations,

for this honour bestowed upon him,
instead they left him imprisoned
to live and die.

those Chinese are a funny peoples,
his is not the cause,
as much as the effects
to change such moral anomolies
one word at a time,
until they actually HEAR HIM!

here is one, such poem:
for Xia

over the tall ashen wall, between
the sound of vegetables being chopped
daybreak’s bound, severed,
dissipated by a paralysis of spirit
what is the difference
between the light and the darkness
that seems to surface through my eyes’
apertures, from my seat of rust
I can’t tell if it’s the glint of chains
in the cell, or the god of nature
behind the wall
daily dissidence
makes the arrogant
sun stunned to no end
daybreak a vast emptiness
you in a far place
with nights of love stored away

WordPress Prompt:  Name someone who deserves more credit than they get. And for bonus points, how to change things so they get more.

One response to “Who Deserves More Credit?

  1. Isn’t it strange that one persons voice could be so feared by an entire government…seems to be a international problem.
